Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts

The Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts, established by Government Ordinance in 1984, is one of the leading institutes of higher arts education in Asia. It provides professional education, training and research facilities in the performing arts, theatre and entertainment arts, film and television. Performance

Bachelor of Education - Hong Kong
The Institute offers Bachelor of Education (Honours) Programmes in different modes. The four-year full-time BEd programmes provide training for those who aspire to become professionally trained graduate teachers while the three-year mixed mode/part-time BEd programmes are designed for those who have received initial teacher training at a sub-degree level and wish to upgrade their qualifications to a degree level. We also offer other undergraduate degree programmes.

The Hong Kong Institute of Education

Established in 1994 and with a heritage of 70 years of teacher training dating to the former colleges of education, the Hong Kong Institute of Education (HKIEd) is the only University Grants Committee-funded institution dedicated solely to professional teacher education in Hong Kong. The HKIEd was formally established by statute in April 1994 - upon recommendation by the Education Commission in 1992 - by uniting the former Northcote College of Education, Grantham College of Education, Sir Robert Black College of Education, the Hong Kong Technical Teachers' College and the Institute of Language in Education.
In October 1997, the Institute moved to its new campus in Tai Po. Its state-of-the-art facilities includes the Mong Man Wai Library, Shu Wah Computer Centre, Arthur Samy Language Learning Centre, Croucher Science Laboratory, HY Cheung Sports Hall, Pengximing Chinese Arts and Culture Resource Studio, … just to name a few. In addition, a kindergarten and a local primary school, namely the HKIEd HSBC Early Childhood Learning Centre and the HKIEd Jockey Club Primary School, were established in 2001 and 2002 respectively. Electrical and Electronic Engineering - HONG KONG

The field of Electrical and Electronic Engineering encompasses many exciting technologies such as microelectronics, computer systems, mobile communications, …, which have been among the fastest growing and most challenging technologies that enable the development of the modern information-based society.
A characteristic of our Department is that we cover electrical, electronic, computer and information engineering all under one roof, which provides tremendous opportunities for cross interaction both in terms of teaching and research. The Department has a wide range of research activities, grouped under six areas, namely (i) computer systems and networking, (ii) telecommunications, (iii) microelectronics, optoelectronics and VLSI, (iv) energy systems and electric vehicles, (v) biomedical engineering, (vi) information systems, and (vii) Electromagnetics and Optics. Our research activities are supported by more than 100 research grants awarded over the last three years. Apart from basic research, our staff have been actively engaged in applied research and technology transfer.
The Department runs four undergraduate programmes, namely Electronic and Communications Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Information Engineering. The Department currently has over 40 academic and teaching staff; about 400 undergraduate students, 300 part-time MSc students and 100 full-time research postgraduate students pursuing MPhil or PhD degrees. We have over 40 laboratories with advanced equipment and facilities for supporting our teaching and research. The mission of the Department is to produce the highest quality of graduates to serve the society, and to conduct leading-edge research. Medical Faculty of the University of Hong Kong
The Faculty was accorded the position of premier Faculty when the University was opened in 1912. Serving Hong Kong for over a century, the Faculty is a medical school of learning, of innovation, and of enterprising; a medical school of morals, of vision, and of care. The Faculty and its predecessor have been playing a pioneering role in medical education, training and research. The new Medical Faculty Complex at Sassoon Road inaugurated in 2002 and our main teaching hospital, the Queen Mary Hospital, is just up the road. From its modest beginning, the Faculty has now become the largest faculty of the University, with around 200 full-time teaching staff and 500 research support staff. The student population is about 1,900. The Faculty comprises 17 departments, the School of Chinese Medicine and a number of research centres focusing on various strengths of research of the Faculty.

Hong Kong College of Emergency Medicine
